Noisy Tracking, Misleading Numbers

PT Signature needed lead generation, but the first obstacle was trust in the data. Tracking was noisy, key digital assets were not fully under the client's control, and reported conversions were overstating what was actually happening in the account. Fixing targeting before fixing tracking means optimizing toward the wrong signal.

The Rebuild: Measurement First, Then Spend

We started with the measurement problem, then worked outward to ad structure, targeting, and the surrounding digital setup.

  • Identified and removed major tracking noise so reported conversions reflected real leads, not phantom events
  • Expanded the negative keyword list from 31 to 161, cutting spend on searches that were never going to convert
  • Rebuilt the ad structure and tightened targeting toward the service area and job types the business actually wanted
  • Improved the Google Business Profile setup and supported SEO and website improvements alongside the ads
  • Replaced the inflated reporting with a Looker Studio dashboard that showed performance plainly

A More Reliable Foundation

The account moved onto a more reliable operational footing. One online-sourced job closed in the first month. More importantly, the business now has reporting it can trust: actual leads counted, not inflated numbers from broken tracking. The negative keyword expansion alone removed a major category of wasted spend, and the rebuilt ad structure gave the account a cleaner base for future optimization as the data accumulates.
