Website Design and Build for Small Businesses in Southwest Missouri
We design and build websites for small and local businesses in the Branson, Springfield, and Ozarks area. Every site is built to load fast, work on mobile, and turn visitors into contacts rather than sit as an online brochure. We handle the design, copy framing, technical setup, and the connection to your marketing and CRM so the site does something after it goes live.
What kind of websites do you build?
Most of our clients are local service businesses, professional service firms, and B2B companies in southwest Missouri. The work ranges from a focused single-service site that needs to rank locally and capture leads, to a full product catalog with downloadable spec sheets.
A few examples of what that looks like in practice:
- Penner Architectural, a commercial wood ceiling manufacturer in Missouri, had almost no web presence. We built a WordPress product site from zero, wrote all twelve product pages, built a one-click PDF spec sheet system covering 201 data sheets, and ran a full on-page SEO pass across the whole catalog. The site went live eight weeks after kickoff.
- For Skyglow Drones, we rebuilt their site for search in about a week, taking it from one indexed page to twelve, and achieved a number two ranking for their target Missouri drone-show search terms as part of a broader outbound system.
- The alexana.co site itself and our photography sub-brand site are both custom Next.js builds, hand-coded for performance and SEO from the ground up.
We do not use page builders or templates when a custom build is the right call. We also work with WordPress when the client's team needs to manage content themselves, and we use hosted platforms like Wix when the scope fits.
What does a website cost?
A website build is priced as a fixed scope after a 20-minute call, not by the hour. The scope depends on how many pages you need, whether we are writing the copy or working from yours, what integrations connect to your CRM or booking system, and whether you want us to own the SEO setup from day one.
A simple five-page local service site is a different project from a catalog with dozens of product pages and downloadable documentation. We will tell you the number before any work starts, and the number does not change mid-project.
There is an optional care plan if you want us to handle hosting, updates, and technical maintenance after launch. Some clients prefer to take ownership of the site themselves. Either path works, and we document everything so the handoff is clean.
How long does a build take?
Most small-business sites take four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch. Penner Architectural went from kickoff to a live product catalog in eight weeks, starting from almost no prior web presence.
The timeline depends on how quickly we get copy, photos, and feedback from you. The biggest delays in any build are content gaps on the client side. We flag those early so they do not sit at the end and push the launch date.
If you have a hard deadline, tell us on the call. We will say honestly whether the scope fits.
Do you handle hosting and updates?
We can. A care plan covers hosting oversight, plugin and platform updates, minor copy changes, and making sure the technical stack stays in good shape as things change over time.
We are not a hosting company. We manage your site on solid infrastructure and handle the ongoing maintenance so you do not have to think about it. If you would rather own all of that yourself after launch, we document the setup and hand it over cleanly.
Will my site show up in Google and AI search?
It depends on the work we put in at build time. A site with no SEO setup, poor page speed, or thin content will not rank regardless of how it looks. We build with search in mind from the start: keyword research, proper heading structure, page speed, mobile performance, schema markup, and meta data across every page.
The Penner Architectural build included a full on-page SEO pass across the entire catalog. The Skyglow Drones rebuild reached a number two ranking for its target Missouri search terms and took the site from a single indexed page to fully indexed, in about a week. SEO is not a feature we bolt on at the end. It goes into the structure from the start.
AI search engines, including Google's AI Overviews and tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity, increasingly pull answers from pages that are clearly structured, well-sourced, and written in plain language. We build copy with that in mind, and that approach lines up with what traditional search has always rewarded.
If you are investing in search alongside the site, see our Google Ads page and our Branson area page for how that connects.
How does the site connect to my CRM and marketing?
Working with one team on both the site and the marketing matters here. A site built by a web shop with no relationship to your ads or CRM is just a brochure until someone manually stitches the pieces together.
We handle the tech and the marketing. When we build your site, we wire the forms into your GoHighLevel CRM, set up conversion tracking so your Google Ads account sees real leads instead of phantom events, and connect any booking or follow-up automations from day one. The site becomes the front end of a working system rather than a static file on a server.
For more detail on the CRM and automation side, see our GHL and CRM automation page. For AI integrations that connect to the site, see our AI integration page.
What we do not offer
We do not take on ecommerce builds, Shopify setups, or online store projects. Branding-only work with no connected site or system is also outside our focus.
We also do not produce websites where the site is the entire engagement and marketing has nothing to do with it. If you want a site that connects to real marketing and a follow-up system, we are a good fit. If you want a static brochure with no further marketing investment, we are probably not.
If your need falls outside what we do, we will tell you honestly and point you in the right direction.
Common questions
What do you need from me before the build starts?
Before we start, we need a clear picture of your business, your customers, and what action you want visitors to take on the site. Photos help if you have good ones. Copy can come from you or we can write it as part of the scope. The call takes 20 minutes and gives us most of what we need to write the proposal.
Do you write the website copy or do I?
Either. We can write the copy as part of the build scope, which is what we recommend for most service businesses because we write it with search structure and lead conversion in mind from the start. If you have copy ready, we will work from it and flag anything that will hurt SEO or readability.
What platform do you build on?
We use the platform that fits the project. Custom Next.js for performance-critical builds where we control every detail. WordPress for sites where the client's team needs to manage content. Wix for scopes where a simpler hosted platform is the honest answer. We will tell you which approach fits your situation and why.
Can you redesign an existing site instead of building from scratch?
Yes. We have redesigned sites mid-engagement for clients when the existing site was limiting what the marketing could do. If your current site has structural problems that are hurting your search performance or conversion rate, a rebuild or redesign is often the right move and we will tell you that plainly on the call.
Can you help a business in Branson, Springfield, or anywhere in the Ozarks?
Yes. We are based in Branson and work with businesses across southwest Missouri. Most of the build work happens remotely, so geography is not a limitation. We also meet in person when that is useful.
